This lovely Remploy double wardrobe with inset sculpted handles is bursting with mid 20th century charm and style. It features a hanging rail on one side and shelving on the other, along with mirror and tie / belt hanger.
Founded by Ernest Bevin, Remploy opened their first factory in 1946 in Bridgend, South Wales with the company’s original workforce mainly made up of disabled ex-miners. Today, Remploy remain one of the largest employers of disabled people in the UK.
In general good condition with light wear commensurate with age and use including some minor scratches and marks. There has been a patch to the veneer to the bottom right hand back corner, however this is not very noticeable once in situ. One of the shelves has had some alterations to the original brackets and is held in place via a screw and a replacement bracket, while one shelf only has 3 brackets, but still remains sturdy.
