We've had numerous sets of these beech stick back chairs in stock over the years which have always been attributed to Danish brand Farstrup, as per our original research. However we recently stumbled upon some old advertising material from IKEA and after further research we can now confirm that they are called the Tellus chair. It looks like they first appeared in IKEA's catalogue in 1966 and last appeared in 1978 and were available in a selection of colours and finishes.
The simple construction and uncomplicated design really make these chairs timeless, fitting in most decorating schemes, from rustic to the more modern.
We've given each chair a fresh coat of oil, cleaning and conditioning the wood, and making them look their best once more. That being said there is visible wear throughout to each of the chairs including scratches, dints and marks as photographed.
Each of the four chairs measures approximately 41cm wide, 48cm deep and 80cm tall with a seat height of 42cm.
