Vintage Rare Oak and Beech 1950s Sideboard by Alphons Loebenstein for Meredew

This seemingly rare sideboard, although simple, utilises its out of the ordinary design features to maximum effect.
The curved shape and pressed out bent handles along with the moulded shelves and drawers really enhance this piece, making it effortlessly stylish and highly unique.
Designed and manufactured in the 1950s by Alphons Loebenstein for Meredew.
Smaller than G-Plan, Meredew attracted many of the same customers of the era, with production mainly focusing on dining and bedroom furniture. Their furniture is not as widely found as its competitors and is thought possible that they also made unbranded furniture for other larger retailers.
Stripped and refinished the cabinet is looking beautiful once more. That being said, given its age there are still some marks, scratches and small chips to the veneer that we have been unable to fully rectify. This however only adds to its charm and adds to the character and story of the piece.
Measures approximately 124cm wide, 49.5cm deep and 87cm tall.
