Pieff was the must have name in high-end British furniture during the 1970’s. Pieff designs had a touch of Hollywood regency and were made using what they saw as the most glamorous materials available.
The trademark offering was furniture crafted from mirrored chrome, Brazilian rosewood, high quality leather and Pirelli webbing. With a reputation for excellence and seen as fairly exclusive, Pieff Furniture was sold through Harrods, Heals and other high-end furniture stores.
This handsome sofa designed by Tim Bates for the Kadia range is sure to add a touch of Mid-Century sophistication to any home, simple yet extremely stylish. Constructed from chrome and leather, this minimal style with low seat is a timeless design and just as fashionable today as the day it was first sold.
All of the cushions have new foam that is compliant with modern safety and fire standards. The back black canvas frame fabric has been replaced, as has each of the backing fabric to each cushion. Missing buttons have been replaced and the leather cleaned and conditioned. Each cushion features cracks to the leather along with some scuffs, scratches and some faint paint splatters. The chrome frame has been cleaned and polished and has shined up beautifully. Each of the Pirelli webbing squares is original and free of rips and tears.
Over all the couch is in good condition, sympathetically and carefully restored with wear commensurate with age and use.
