Vintage Pair of Rare Danish Early 1950s Model 71 Dining Chairs By Arne Hovmand Olsen For Mogens Kold

This absolutely stunning pair of dining chairs are the perfect set to inject some Mid 20th Century sophistication into your home. 

Designed by Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold in the early 1950s. 

Arne Hovmand-Olsen is a Danish designer who was met with great success in the United States during the 1960s. The pieces of furniture designed by Hovman-Olsen are most certainly characteristic of the Scandinavian designs of the time with simple and clear lines. As a prolific designer, he's most famous for his chairs but also deigned tables and sideboards amongst other pieces of furniture. 

The highly sculptural design has become a timeless classic and is possibly one of the nicest dining chairs we've had in stock. The mix of sharp angles and soft curves along with the vinyl wrapped handles make these chairs highly tactile and are not only beautiful but comfortable too. 

Although in nice condition they're not without wear commensurate with age and use. The frames have been re oiled with a mixture that both cleans and nourishes the wood. Both seat bases have been stripped, sanded and refinished. One of the chairs features some sympathetic veneer repairs (as photographed), with both chairs featuring some minor scratches and marks. 

Each measures approximately 77cm tall with a seat height of 43cm, 50cm wide and 52cm deep.
