This beautiful striped milk jug by John Clappison for Hornsea Pottery is the perfect item to adorn any dining table top. The simple, graphic design is extremely typical of its 1980s era.
Founded by Brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson in 1949, Hornsea Pottery was originally located in the seaside town of Hornsea on the East Yorkshire coast, hence its name.
By the mid 1950s popularity and production had significantly increased and Hornsea Pottery became one of the major producers of pottery and tableware, not only supplying major retail stores in the UK but also exporting to many countries around the globe. This ultimately led to numerous Design Council awards throughout their 50 year production period.
In general good condition with light wear commensurate with age and use.
Measures approximately 12cm tall, 15.5cm wide spout to handle, and 10cm deep.
