Vintage Glazed Haberdashery Cabinet / Shop Counter

An instant eye catcher, this beautiful vintage shop counter is sure to spark much conversation wherever it's placed. The nostalgic emotions they evoke of simpler and more stylish times, along with gorgeous design have an everlasting appeal wether placed in the home or in their intended retail environment.
The cabinet has undergone some updating and modifying at some point, with one side now featuring a plank of wood rather than the original legs, the reason for this is unknown. As a result the cabinet doesn't sit completely level but is not too noticeable. The outside has also been painted black.
There were numerous old woodworm holes throughout the cabinet which we have thoroughly treated and filled. The beautiful parquet veneer base, that was hidden underneath some black velvet fabric, features some marks, scratching and a hole where an old lighting cable was once fed through. It also bows up slightly on one side which is very difficult to capture on camera.
The original glass shelf was cracked and chipped so we have had a new one cut in toughened safety glass with polished edges, the height of which can be adjusted by moving the bracket up or down. The outer glass is nice and clean but features some scratching, heavy on top as to be expected.
Perfect for any room of the house, this is the ideal piece to proudly display your household wears or turn into a nice terrarium for plants.
Measures approximately 185cm long, 62cm deep and 91cm tall. Please make sure you have sufficient help to move the cabinet as it is very heavy.
