This beautiful chair by Finn Juhl for France & Son is the perfect item to inject some mid 20th Century sophistication into any home. There were two versions of this model 196 design, a male version and a female version, this here is the female version, identified as such due to its slightly smaller back rest proportions.
Finn Juhl is perhaps one of the most influential designers of his time, renowned for his iconic furniture designs and for revolutionising the Danish furniture tradition with his sculptural and artistic vision.
Constructed from solid teak, the frame has been fully stripped, sanded and re-oiled making it look its very best once more. That being said there are some marks and dints that are simply commensurate with age and use. The black vinyl upholstery is original but has had some updating to the fabric that lines the underneath.
A modest design that is sure to create maximum impact wherever it's placed.
Measures approximately 65cm wide, 54cm deep and 75.5cm tall, with a seat height of 44cm.
