Studio pottery is pottery made by professional and amateur artists or artisans working alone or in small groups, making unique items or short runs. Typically, all stages of manufacture are carried out by the artists themselves.
If you're looking for unique, decorative yet functional items for your home, studio pottery is the way to go. Becoming more and more fashionable, these stand out pieces usually in muted, earthy tones would look lovely in any style home.
This figurative vessel has been a bit of a mystery to us. We've unfortunately been unable to find out anything about its maker, where it came from or the item itself, despite having a sticker to the underside. With some resemblance and possibly some inspiration taken from the likes of Jacques Pouchain and Bjørn Wiinblad, there is certainly a European and Scandinavian feel about it.
Whether for use as a fruit bowl, candle holder, or a handy catch all this striking piece is sure to look great in any home.
In general good condition, measuring approximately 24cm long, 22cm wide and 27cm tall.
