Once used in Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery which was opened by the Carlisle Corporation in 1893. This lovely set of library filing drawers, circa early 20th century, would have once proudly catalogued some of the museum's vast and varied natural history collections.
These types of items look great in domestic settings and help add interest and texture to any room. Not only aesthetically pleasing, but useful too and would be a welcome storage solution to house any number of small items.
Each of the 15 drawers come with an adjustable metal divider. The top is not fixed and simply slots onto the drawers. These would have been modular when first purchased, meaning any number could have been stacked one ontop of the other.
Measures approximately 84cm long, 44cm deep and 41cm tall. Internally each drawer measures approximately 13cm wide, 39cm deep and 10.5cm tall.
