The mixture of complimenting wood tones of Afrormosia and beech along with clean lines and shapes really make this a must have piece. The 1950s, in our opinion, produced some of the most slick and chic designs and this coat rack is certainly no exception.
A. Younger Ltd was a high quality British furniture manufacturer that led the way for style and contemporary taste from the 1950s. Younger furniture was manufactured in low volume, was well made and aimed at the top end of the market. One of the first firms to make Scandinavian inspired furniture in the UK and ultimately one of the first manufacturers to abandon the style completely in the late sixties in the search for something more original and cutting edge.
Younger's top designer was John Herbert, the firm's design director.
In general good condition with light wear commensurate with age and use, including some dints, marks and scratching. We've given the rack a fresh coat of oil, cleaning and conditioning the wood, ensuring it gets to you looking its very best once more.
