This absolutely show stopping sideboard was designed circa 1960 and taps into the essence of Danish Modern with its clean lines, functional design and expert craftsmanship. The sheer size alone demands your attention and is sure to look gorgeous wherever it's placed.
Christensen was not only an exceptional designer but also the owner of the company of the same name ACO (Axel Christensen Odder), which he founded together with his wife Ruth in Denmark.
Featuring mitered edges, with inserted corner strips and seamless transitions of solid wood parts to the adjacent veneered surfaces. The sculptural, tactile handles and inset, curved drawer pulls ooze quality and help demonstrate its magnificent craftsmanship.
The sideboard has been fully stripped, sanded and refinished and is looking stunning once more. That being said the sideboard came to us in an extremely bad state and as such there are certain areas that still show signs of minor wear that are simply commensurate with age and wear. The drawers are a little stiff due to lack of use, with some staining to the felt lining of one of the drawers.
A truly gorgeous piece of furniture.
Measures approximately 240cm long, 47cm deep and 78cm tall.
