Edward Weston (1886–1958) is considered to be one of the most innovative and influential 20th-century American photographers. A master of his field over the course of his 40-year career Weston photographed an increasingly expansive set of subjects, including landscapes, still-lifes, nudes, portraits, genre scenes and even whimsical parodies.
Taken in 1940 this candid shot of Clark Gabel is the perfect example of Weston's work, and a wonderful snap shot of celebrity portraiture from that time.
The highly lacquered orange wooden frame is very typical of it's 1980s era, but still very modern and striking today.
In general good condition with some marks and dints to the frame. The backing tape is a little curled but the print remains nice and safe and secure inside.
Measures approximately 75cm wide, 60cm tall and 1.5cm deep.
All of our prices include VAT, please get it touch if you require a VAT receipt.
