Vintage IKEA is becoming more and more sought after. This gorgeous shelving designed by Rutger Andersson is perfect for any interior needing modular and adaptable storage.
A beautifully simple, standout piece of furniture brimming with personality and charm. Sure to add impact to any room and would be a welcome addition to any interior.
From some research it appears that the NIKLAS shelving first appeared in the 1981 IKEA catalogue and last appeared, with some adaptations and variations in 2003. This particular set has a cupboard with no handles which dates it from 1981-1994.
The full set comprises of four tall string frames and one small one, 13 shelves and a double cupboard unit. All can be configured however you like. There are also two back cross braces meaning if wanted, some sections could be split and made into their own stand alone pieces.
In general good condition with some wear commensurate with age, including some marks, scratches, scuffs, bowing and some drill holes to one of the shelves.
In total, the unit measures approximately 338cm long, 181cm tall and 43cm deep. Each shelf measures approximately 82cm long and 39.5cm deep.
