This stunning 1970s yellow model WL3 desk lamp by Anglepoise is sure to make any desk or office space instantly better.
As an engineer the inadequacies of available lighting products were all too clear to Carwardine, prompting him to set about developing a frictionless mechanism that could balance and direct light to any position. Resulting in the creation of the model 1227 back in the 1930s.
Together with Kenneth Grange the model WL3 we see here was designed. A modern and more space age design for its 1960s/70s era.
In general good condition with light wear commensurate with age and use, as photographed.
The lamp has been PAT tested and has been fitted with a new UK 3 pin plug. Comes with approximately 200cm of black plastic flex and requires a standard B22 bayonet bulb.
At the tallest point with everything standing to attention/upright, the light measures 72cm tall while the base of the lamp measures 20cm in diameter. Finally, the shade measures approximately 22cm in diameter.
