This lovely sofa / daybed is the perfect item to add some Mid 20th Century charm into your living space.
The Svane Combina Daybed Sofa is an iconic modular piece of furniture designed by the renowned Norwegian designer Ingmar Relling, and manufactured by Ekornes in Norway during the 1960s and 1970s. Praised for its space-saving dual functionality and clean Scandinavian lines, it remains a highly sought-after vintage classic. The original range featured different combinations of two seater and three seater sofas, alongside coffee tables and storage boxes that could all be linked together in different configurations.
When the back cushions are removed the sofa is transformed into a single bed. By lifting up the seat section the sofa reveals an integrated storage compartment underneath, designed especially for tucking away blankets, sheets, and pillows.
The orange wool upholstery and internal foam are both original, which we decided to keep as is, leaving the item as authentic as possible. The wood has all been re-oiled with a mixture that both cleans and conditions the wood, making it look its best once more.
As the upholstery fabric is original there are some minor signs of wear here and there, including marks, snags and some areas of light fading, but generally very nice considering its age.
Measures approximately 195cm wide, 75cm deep and 74cm tall with a seat height of 38cm.
