This lovely set of drawers is modest in design but bursting with charm and style. The simple clean lines and lack of handles except on the top drawer really make this piece a classic in mid-century modern design.
The furniture manufacturer, Avalon was a British company based in the town of Yatton in Somerset. In the olden days most of the inhabitants of Yatton would have been employed in agriculture. At the time of the Industrial Revolution however a furniture factory was established under the name of Avalon, initially manufacturing church pews and school desks.
Featuring six drawers, this handy little pal would be perfect for the bedroom or even in a living room or bathroom.
In general good condition with the usual light surface wear and scratching/marks commensurate with age. There are some small nibbles to the veneer to the front of some of the drawers (as photographed). We have had the top, stripped and refinished, although some of the deeper scratches have not been fully gotten rid of.
Measuring approximately 76cm wide, 42.5cm deep and 76cm tall.
