This lovely small set of drawers is modest in size and design but bursting with charm and style. The simple clean lines sculptural inset handles and raised leg supports really make this piece a classic in mid-century modern Scandinavian design.
Mogens Kold are considered one of the best known Danish makers of mid-century furniture. Their main designer of this period was Arne Hovmand Olsen, but Mogens Kold himself also designed many of their pieces. Chests of this small size were designed and intended as hall chests in Denmark and Sweden where they often stood with a mirror above.
They came to us in a rather sorry state and had been painted very badly with thick white paint. They have now been fully restored to their former glory and look absolutely stunning once more. That being said there are still some small marks commensurate with age and as photographed. As teak has a very tight grain, there may still be some very small bits of grain with paint still in. However this is only visible very close up and definitely doesn't detract from its over all appeal.
A gorgeous, quality small set of drawers, perfect for any sized space.
Measures approximately 67cm wide, 40cm deep and 77cm tall.
