This stunning mid 20th century 32 piece gold coloured cutlery set is an absolute beauty. With a clean, simple, streamlined design, each piece is beautifully crafted and ready to be laid proudly on your dining table.
After a lot of research we've found the cutlery is very much in the style of the Scanline range by designer Sigvard Bernadotte, the only difference here being that each piece is not stamped with the 'Scanline' text.
Swedish designer Sigvard Bernadotte is considered one of the earliest pioneers of industrial design in Scandinavia. In the early 1930s after completing his studies he joined the workshop of Georg Jenson and became the first designer in the company to adopt geometric forms and move away from the Arts and Crafts influenced designs the workshop was known for at the time.
We're not completely sure what material this set is made from, as there are conflicting views online with some stating solid brass and some stating solid bronze. What we do know however is that the minimal aesthetic along with the thin, squared, angular handles make this set look extremely delicate and are the perfect set for those who favour a more simplistic approach to design.
Although each piece has been polished there are still some areas of visible tarnish spots and marks commensurate with age and use.
