Vintage 1980s IKEA ARBOGA Pine Arm Chair with Upholstered Seats

This beautifully simplistic pine arm chair is the perfect item for any living space. Its linear lines and blocky shape are very typical of its Scandinavian origin, and an excellent example of classic IKEA design. 

First seen in the 1980/1981 IKEA catalogue the ARBOGA range consisted of an armchair and 3 and 2 seater sofa option. It came in a choice of blue, brown and green striped hemp cotton fabric with reversible cushions. 

Although released in the 1980s the design still retains elements of mid-century modern, with a contemporary update for its time. 

After a fresh coat of oil, cleaning and conditioning the wood the chair is looking beautiful once more and has been re upholstered with a subtle yet eye catching vintage beige, lilac and yellow textured wool fabric, over new foam inserts. The bottom canvas base has also been replaced. With wear to the wood commensurate with age and use and as photographed.
