Vintage West German Jasba Keramik Vase

By the early 1960s the West German factories started to experiment heavily with the decorative effects of glazes. This experimentation was mainly with the use of mostly drip glazes, with one glaze running over another, usually in a contrasting colour or a different thickness, resulting in a lava-like effect. However it was the 1970s that saw a true expression in experimentation and innovation with pots of all types, from floor vases to miniature bowls, made in bizarre shapes and covered in all kinds of dazzling colours and patterns. 

Jasba Keramik is a renowned West German pottery manufacturer founded in 1926 by Jakob Schwaderlapp in Ransbach-Baumbach. Famous for mid-century art pottery, the company ceased decorative production in 1975 to focus on industrial tiles.

In general good condition with light wear commensurate with age. Measures approximately 20.5cm tall. 10.5cm wide including the handle and 9.5cm in diameter.
