This striking decorative plate is very typical of its mid 20th century era in both design and colour and is sure to look great wherever it's displayed.
During the 1920s and '30s Poole Pottery established a reputation for innovation and high quality. In the immediate post-war period the company introduced a range of contemporary patterns on free form shapes, again establishing itself as a leading manufacturer and placing Poole at he forefront of British pottery design at the time.
The name Delphis has become associated with the standard range of shapes and designs produced by the new Craft Section at Poole Pottery which was opened in May 1966. The bold designs and colourful glazes were instantly in tune with 1960's fashion and such was the popularity of the range that the factory struggled to keep pace with demand.
In general good condition with some light wear commensurate with age.
Measures approximately 20cm in diameter and 3cm tall.
