Rare Vintage Rosewood Sideboard by Gordon Russell of Broadway.

This beautifully simplistic sideboard is the perfect addition to any living space. The highly figured grain and colour of the rosewood is absolutely stunning and really makes this piece stand out.

The two types of handle design on the drawers and sliding cupboard doors is a lovely feature and adds interest to what is a more modest design overall.

Seemingly now quite rare we’ve been unable to find any other examples of this piece, a unique item that is sure to look gorgeous in any home.

Gordon Russell was a design pioneer, although most famous for his work as a furniture designer, he was also a maker, entrepreneur and educator who was passionate about accessible, well crafted design.

Schooled in the Arts and Crafts tradition of the Cotswolds, Russell believed that good design and well made quality furniture had a lasting impact on people’s lives.

Throughout the 20th Century furniture produced by Russell was continually commissioned for large scale projects including the now infamous interlinking chairs for Coventry Cathedral, and most famously for the CC41 Utility furniture range of the Second World War.

In lovely condition after a full restoration, that being said there are still some small areas of light wear that are simply commensurate with age and past use.

Measures approximately 183cm wide, 46cm deep and 81cm tall.
