Rare Picasso Wall Hanging Tapestry of Le Reve (The Dream) by Jules Pansu

Le Reve (The Dream) is a 1932 oil painting by Pablo Picasso, portraying his 22 years old mistress Marie-Therese Walter.

It is said to have been painted in just one afternoon and is part of Picasso’s period of distorted depictions, with oversimplified outlines and contrasted colours resembling early Fauvism.

The erotic content of the painting has been noted repeatedly, with critics pointing out that Picasso painted an erect penis, presumably symbolising his own, in the upturned face of his model.

On March 26, 2013, the New York Post reported that Steven A. Cohen of SAC Capital had bought the painting from the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas for $155 million.

This beautiful tapestry is an exact replica of the original artwork and has been licensed by the Picasso Foundation, with production by Jules Pansu.

In 1878 Jules Pansu created his company in Paris, where the company is still located today. Creator and manufacturer of wall tapestries and textiles from the outset, his manufacturing workshops are located in Halluin, land of Flanders, the cradle of tapestry for over 600 years.
