This beautiful easy chair by Paul and Dorothy Goble for Stag is sure to become the focal point to any room.
Stag Furniture has been a heritage British brand since its origination. However it was not until the early 1950s that Stag transformed from a 'cheap', down market company to the respected brand we know today. This was mainly down to the introduction of Architects and designers John and Sylvia Reid. Thereafter it was considered to be one of the most popular furniture ranges, its design, style and quality were well known and praised.
During the early 1960s Stag briefly collaborated with several other freelance designers, notably Paul and Dorothy Goble whose S725 Goble Easy Chair (1962) had a dynamic laminated wooden frame and plush cushions supported by Pirelli webbing.
The chair has been fully stripped, sanded and refinished and is looking beautiful once more. The chair came to us without cushions, so with visual aids from books and online our upholsterer has matched shape perfectly and has recovered with gorgeous beige boucle fabric. The original webbing was torn and sagging, so that has also been replaced with brand new Pirelli webbing.
A stunning statement piece that is sure to become an instant favourite.
Measures approximately 71cm tall with a 42cm seat height, 55cm wide and 77cm deep.
